Also on board with the new venture is French chef Nico Duhil, who learned his trade working in many Michelin-starred restaurants throughout France for more than 10 years.
Food will be served at Barca Artbar & Venue from Thursday to Sundays and Nico will also chef for private parties and functions.
Nico said: “David has given me free reign to design the menu, which is a chef’s dream and I’m really excited about it.
“I will be using seasonal, fresh and mostly homegrown ingredients where possible.” “We’ll also be offering sweet and savoury crêpes and galettes, which are a speciality of mine!
“I really enjoy making vegetarian and vegan food and I’m very interested in the concept of ‘clean’ cooking and eating but with a French twist.
“There will certainly be something to please all palates.”
Kenny Carpenter is correctly considered by his peers in the music industry to be one of the forefathers of dance music. It was during the mid to late 70s that Kenny was in ever-present attendance when the NYC underground gay club scene emerged from its womb of rhythmic integration. As an original ‘Brooklyn Boy’ he watched, listened and learned from the legendary likes of Nicky Siano, Larry Levan and David Mancuso. Before long Kenny started DJing and soon picked up a Saturday night residency in the forever famous, infamous, and world-renowned Studio 54. Ever since then Kenny has played in countries such as Israel, France, Spain and England spinning regular guest spots at what was and still is the most famous club in London, Ministry of Sound.
Terry Hunter has a passion for soulful house music and he has travelled far and wide to share it with the world.
Brought up in his native Chicago, Terry was introduced to soul and disco music by another DJ: his father. As a teenager, Terry began DJing around his neighbourhood, and eventually worked his way up to play seminal Chicago clubs and parties. Terry’s first release, ‘Madness’, became an underground hit in 1990, just as the Chicago house sound was taking off internationally.
Hunter continued to DJ in Chicago and beyond, and he honed his productions skills by contributing remixes to artists like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, R. Kelly and Mary J. Blige. He is also a talented songwriter, co-writing and producing tracks for R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn and fellow Chicagoans Syleena Johnson and Rhymefest.
Boys of Brass are a horn section of sophistication, excitement, power and....they sound great! Not only do the Boys play their arrangements of classic funk, soul and jazz, but they carry the increasingly rare setup of a full horn section backing talented singers or simply blowing through a classic riff on their own. The band have been seen as far afield as Agni Beach Corfu, and closer to home at Hoochie Coochie, Slaley Hall, Rockliffe Hall, AYLI, Barluga, Brandling Villas, the Crowne Plaza Hotel and The Assembly Rooms. The band have also performed privately for North NEPIA and American Air Filter amongst others.

Allister Whitehead began his DJing career way back in 1987 at the tender age of 17 - no surprise unconventional. Starting out in his hometown of Nottingham, Allister took up a residency at the Koolkat, where he often played next to the ubiquitous Graeme Park on Saturday nights.
His growing reputation quickly led to another residency, at the seminal club Venus, but the biggest break came when he covered a spot at the Hacienda, standing in for Mike Pickering of M People. On the strength of this one night alone, he began his third residency. So now the story of our new Qaraj'ic master begins to unfold in earnest...
One of the UK's most respected House DJ's and Record Producers, Ricky Morrison has been breaking beats since it all began in '86 Biography
Genuinely one of the most influential producers & DJ’s in the UK house scene from its original days in the early eighties, Ricky Morrison has earned a reputation for delivering big performances and big records and is set to release a wave of new material in 2015/16.
In 1984 a young Ricky Morrison began spinning at London’s infamous ‘Dance Wicked’, promoted by SOUL II SOUL, and went on to be resident at ‘HIGH ON HOPE’ with the legend that is now Norman Jay MBE. Two of the UK’s most seminal dance clubs was a hell of a start and Ricky established a name for himself within the exploding house scene that developed into the monster it is today. Ricky has gone on to play at many of the best clubs in the world, on every continent, and very much has a style of his own that stands him out from the crowd, a style that saw him play the main room at the Southport Weekender five years in a row as the event was returning to its soulful roots in the late 90’s. Also a regular at the Ministry Of Sound, Fabric & Pacha Ricky developed a sound for the big rooms these venues offered that filled the space without betraying his soulful roots. This made Ricky a valuable commodity as the US House scene took off and many promoters of previously underground events began taking over the High Street needing a DJ that could cross over the soulful sound to a bigger audience...

The story of DJ Graeme Park really mirrors the story of the evolution of dance music and club culture itself. Graeme found himself working in a Nottingham record shop called Selectadisc in the early 1980s, when the very first house records began to filter through from Chicago, Detroit and New York. When the shop’s owner opened a nightclub, it was only natural he should turn to Graeme to select the discs.
Determined to showcase this new style of music, his reputation as a house pioneer soon brought him to the attention of Mike Pickering at the Haçienda in Manchester, who asked him to cover for him while he went on holiday in 1988.
Simply put, there was no-one else in the country who could do the job. The Summer of Love followed, and Parky quickly became one of the biggest names on the emerging dance scene. Aside from his nine year residency at The Haç, he was one of the first British DJs to play places like Australia, South America, the USA, Asia and beyond as well as producing and remixing tracks for the dancefloor, including The Brand New Heavies, Inner City, Eric B & Rakim, New Order, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and more.

It could be their 'Zoo Experience' radio show, the longest running show on London's Kiss FM, or the legendary parties that were 'Garage City' and Soul Heaven? Perhaps it's their ultimate dance weekender Summervibes, or their sell-out parties at the Miami Winter Music Conference?
Maybe it's the famous Klub Zoo, or their Friday night residency, Groove On @ Heaven or it might just be their exciting agenda of plans they have for 2005 the list is endless. Exactly what makes Bobby & Steve so successful is hard to define, but one thing is for sure, they've come a very long way from their weekly slot at Simpson's Wine Bar in East London's Forest Gate.
