Also on board with the new venture is French chef Nico Duhil, who learned his trade working in many Michelin-starred restaurants throughout France for more than 10 years. Food will be served at Barca ArtBar & Venue from Thursday to Sundays and Nico will also chef for private parties and functions. Nico said: “David has given me free reign to design the menu, which is a chef’s dream and I’m really excited about it.

“I will be using seasonal, fresh and mostly homegrown ingredients where possible.”

“We’ll also be offering sweet and savoury crepes and galettes, which are a speciality of mine!

“I really enjoy making vegetarian and vegan food and I’m very interested in the concept of ‘clean’ cooking and eating but with a French twist.

“There will certainly be something to please all palates.”

Galettes, Burgers, Sandwiches, Hot Dogs and Crepes; £4.95-£8.95

Firstly, I send out quite a few invites to events at WHQ, I don't wish to spam friends of mine who may not be interested in Club stuff, so if invites from me are gettin on your nerves, feel free to block them. I'll still be your chum & you can always get in touch with me by sending me a message & keep up to date with what's up at WHQ by checking the website every now & then. Ok, that's that out of the way...

Hi, I'm Tom, Tommy to my friends. I play the tunes at WHQ on a weekend. Other than that I am a bit of a recluse really. I'm friendly, so if you wanna find out more about my things check out I Dj & I have played in Newcastle & round & about for many, many years. I pre date any one else who plays in Newcastle & have consistently run clubs in the City longer than anyone else. I now only play at WHQ club as that is what matters most.

I don't work with warm ups & play solo, 10 hours mimimum each weekend. I play any record as long as it's fantastic & am above genres

The story of DJ Graeme Park really mirrors the story of the evolution of dance music and club culture itself. Graeme found himself working in a Nottingham record shop called Selectadisc in the early 1980s, when the very first house records began to filter through from Chicago, Detroit and New York. When the shop’s owner opened a nightclub, it was only natural he should turn to Graeme to select the discs.

Determined to showcase this new style of music, his reputation as a house pioneer soon brought him to the attention of Mike Pickering at the Haçienda in Manchester, who asked him to cover for him while he went on holiday in 1988.

Simply put, there was no-one else in the country who could do the job. The Summer of Love followed, and Parky quickly became one of the biggest names on the emerging dance scene. Aside from his nine year residency at The Haç, he was one of the first British DJs to play places like Australia, South America, the USA, Asia and beyond as well as producing and remixing tracks for the dancefloor, including The Brand New Heavies, Inner City, Eric B & Rakim, New Order, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and more.

Look at the history of British clubland, and youll find the name CJ Mackintosh is woven inextricably into the tale.
